Easter...

I am blessed to teach at a school where I get to teach children about how much Jesus loves them, so much so that he died on a cross for OUR sins. We will never know unconditional love like that! So undeserving and so blessed!

This week my kiddos made Handprint Easter Lilies. Click HERE to check out the original directions. They turned out great, especially since it's ALL their own work! The first pic is my sample, larger hand=larger flower
Here is our beautiful class bouquet.
Also, if you're a Christian school teacher or a parent, HERE is a cute Easter poem your kids will love reading. I'm unsure of the author, so let me know if it's you! :)
Happy Easter!

Easter Egg Word Families...

I was looking through my materials for the next few weeks and came across my word family eggs from last year. They're looking pretty worn but you'll get the idea. Actually, I was thinking, instead of using a label maker for the letters, I may redo them using a sharpie. It may last longer. The students twist the eggs to make a variety of words in each family. If you're interested in making some for your own classroom, feel free to download this worksheet to accompany it! I'd love to know if you end up making this a center in your classroom!

The following pictures are from our centers this week! We worked on greater than, less than, long I spellings, compound word, and human body. The following activities are taken from my Alligator Chomp and Human Body units. Check them out if you're working on any of these concepts!

5 school days and counting til Spring Break! It will be a well deserved time off for the students and their teacher! :)

Keepsake Box

Awhile back, I found a picture of the cutest keepsake boxes I've ever seen! I decided they just had to be made and sent home as a special treat on Open House night. In order to provide a bit of an explanation to parents about its purpose, I attached this note inside each box.  The kids have loved putting them together and I can't wait for the parent response! I'm hoping they're even half as excited as I am :)

Note: I made the lettering using my Silhouette Cameo and used spray adhesive to attach it....AHHH WHAT A LIFE SAVER!

Our week...

This week, we're working on some St. Patrick's Day centers as well as continuing our human body unit. We've been working through Deanna Jump's unit as well as my St. Patrick's Day Math pack. I've been so proud of my kiddos. They've worked so hard this year learning and following routines and it sure does pay off. We are able to accomplish so many things when they're on top of it. I'm always pleased when someone comes my classroom and notices how well they follow the routines. Sometimes it's just the little things :)

Here are some pics from our week:
Sums of 10
Days of the Week and Months of the Year
Number Word Puzzles
Gettin in her exercise to Jack Hartmann's music on You Tube (QR Code is in my Human Body pack)

Speaking of Deanna Jump, I finally put together my Common Core Standards posters. So useful AND CUTE! :)
Hope everyone's week is treating them well. We're getting so close to spring break I can taste it! Anyone else ready? Or better yet, anyone else on spring break already?

Silhouette Love!

I'm sure you've all heard about the wonders of the Silhouette Cameo, and maybe even have one (it was love at first sight for me!), but I wanted to share my latest project anyways. I saw the idea on Pinterest and just knew I needed make them for my niece and nephew.
I went on a hunt for green t shirts for a 5 year old boy and an 8 year old girl, not an easy task. It's tough finding a cute green shirt for girls! Kohls pulled through for me though. Seriously, how cute are these?!?! I was even contemplating making one for myself! :) Anyways, they're off in the mail tomorrow...here's to hoping they like them even half as much as I do!

What's your favorite Silhouette project? I'm always looking to get my craft on :)

Celebrating Read Across America!

This time of year always brings out the crazies in my little ones. We're in the middle of preparing for our big Open House night and are in THAT time of year when the itchies for spring break are coming near. In the midst of all that, I am reminded just how lucky I am to have a job that I love. No matter how difficult the day before is, I continue to look forward to the next new day. I know I'm not alone in this, but there are days when I just need to relax, remind myself how blessed I really am, and pray. Click on the pic to download this little prayer for yourself.

Now on to the fun part! :) The kids had such a wonderful week reading Dr. Seuss books, learning that Dr. Seuss isn't his real name, and eating yummy, silly treats. Here is a glimpse of our week. Click here to see the original post about the One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish Craft.

I would LOVE to hear about your favorite activities to celebrate!
